Using a few supplies that you can find at your local dollar store, this Valentine’s Day countdown craft is an easy way for you to count down the days until Valentine’s Day while enjoying some sweet treats along the way. Take a look at how you can make your own to enjoy. It is a fun time you won’t want to miss!

Valentine’s Day Countdown Craft

Supplies Needed:
3 packages of plastic heart containers
Small candies such as conversation hearts
Black or red marker

We were able to find the plastic heart containers at our local Dollar Tree store. They were sold in a pack of six, and since you need one for each day from February 1-14, you will need to buy three packages to have enough. Conversation hearts and other small candy choices can be purchased there as well!

Directions:
1. Lay out your plastic hearts and on the lid of each, begin writing numbers 1-14. You may need to write the number in two coats so it is nice and dark.
2. In each heart, place a few pieces of candy. If you want non candy options, you can place tiny love notes, coins, or even scripture verses. Anything you think your sweetheart will enjoy (and will fit in the heart) will work.
3. Place the lids back on your plastic hearts. Place the collection of hearts in a basket or bowl.

Starting February 1st, take the heart labeled “14” and open it. Enjoy the treat inside! Each day, open a new heart and countdown the days until Valentine’s Day. You will notice your hearts getting fewer and fewer as the days lead up to February 14th, and soon will find yourself at Valentine’s Day. If you wish, you can add a few extra treats in the heart for the last day.

When you are done, you can always put the hearts away and use them again next year! This is easily a countdown calendar you can use from year to year as you anticipate Valentine’s Day!

This Valentine’s Day countdown craft is fun, frugal, and a great way to get excited about the season. Give it a try so that when February 1st rolls around, you are ready!
