October is here, which means in just a few short weeks, it will be time to dress the little ones up and hit the neighborhood for tricks and treats! Sure you could gather all of your candy swag in pillowcases or pumpkin face buckets, but why not try to make your own instead? This simple Dollar Store DIY craft is just in time for the Halloween season, since you will be needing a big ol’ bucket to cart your candy around in. Take a look below at how to make your own thrifty trick or treat bucket and save!

Thrifty Trick or Treat Bucket

Supplies Needed:
Large handled bucket
Peel and stick letters
Die cut spiders
Craft glue

I was able to find all of the supplies mentioned above at my local Dollar Tree store. The total cost for this project is a mere $4, $3 if you already have the glue at home. You can’t beat that price for a custom trick or treat bucket!

Directions:

  1. Begin by peeling off the letters that will decorate your bucket. You can choose your child’s name or words such as “Boo” and “Spooky.”
  2. Next, add a dab of glue to the back of each spider and press them firmly to the bucket. Hold them in place for several seconds to be sure they adhere well. You can add some Mod Podge if you wish to seal the spiders onto the bucket. In our example, we left them in more of a 3D style so the spiders looked like they were jumping off the bucket.
  3. Now all you need to do is find some homes passing out treats! This bucket is easy to carry and the perfect size to gather all of your sweet treats.
