Have you ever felt like some people just have the knack to be crafty, and you don’t? Have you ever wanted to create the beautiful things you see on Pinterest, but just can’t? If you wish you could tap into your creativity, there is hope! Today, let’s talk about how to tap into your creativity and become more artistic, free flowing, and fun!

Tapping into your creativity doesn’t mean you need to become the next Monet (although you could!) it just means that you are going to let art guide you to create something expressive. This can be as simple as sketching with some colored pencils, painting with water colors, modeling some clay, or even getting creative with fabrics. There are so many mediums, whether it be painting, photography, sculpting, creative writing, or even singing for you to explore.

Start by stepping out of your comfort zone. Visit the local craft store and find some supplies that appeal to you. Or, visit the local library and get some books about various crafts or creative outlets you wish to try. Just doing this may truly inspire you. Once you know where you want to begin (music, writing, drawing, etc.) find a well lit, yet serene place to get started. Put on your favorite music if you wish, burn a scented candle, and just let it rip!

Give yourself one hour to create. This can be a picture, a poem, whatever you are inspired to do. There are no rules. No one is watching. Feel what it is in your heart and your head and use it to create. Create something fun, something magical, create a mess even. This is your creative journey.

When you are done, take your creation and display it proudly. Frame that picture, put that poetry piece in a fancy folder. Share your work with a trusted friend. After all it is official now, you tapped into your creative energy.

Just by tapping into this energy once a week, you will be amazed at how it makes you feel. You will feel inspired, happier, free flowing, even more relaxed. The ideas will continue to flow and the desire to create more will follow.

How are you going to tap into your own creativity this week? Let us know on the Facebook or Community Chat page. We would love to hear and who knows, you may inspire someone else!

Happy Monday, Friends!
