We all want to live peaceful lives, but seem to be unclear on how to achieve one. And so, we find ourselves feeling stressed over the thought, which completely defeats the purpose of a peaceful life all together. Let’s explore today how we can achieve living a peaceful life in a way that is simple and even inexpensive. I am happy to tell you it is easier than you may think.
How to live a peaceful life in 3 easy steps:
1. Don’t attend each battle you are invited to.
This means, that you don’t need to get all excited each time you are faced with an issue you don’t agree with. While it is important to stand up for what you believe in, pick your battles carefully. You don’t need to attend each battle. Often times we feel the need to get involved every time we see a Facebook, Twitter, or social media post that gets us upset or excited. Instead, resist. Ask yourself what your input can truly accomplish, and choose to walk away instead. It can save you hours of bickering, time wasting, and energy! The feeling of peace is sure to follow.
2. Take a daily time out.
Don’t let the day defeat you. Take a daily time out (or two) to sit quietly and reflect on what blessings have come your way that day. Blessings don’t need to be huge, they can be as small as finding the sock you lost or the flowers that bloomed outside your window. Taking these breaks will help banish the negative from your head and help you find peace.
3. Surround yourself with peaceful people.
Don’t spend time around negativity. Turn off obnoxious and negative music. Don’t watch negative tv and talk shows. Don’t spend time around people who do not lead with peace. Pretty soon, you can get sucked up in their drama and peace will evade you. Instead, spend time around peace makers, positive media, and you are sure to notice a difference.
Living a peaceful life is easier than you think. Surround yourself with peaceful people and choices and the rest is sure to fall into place.
