Thrifty Thursday – Mason Jar Cherry Yum-Yum!!

Mason Jar Cherry Yum-Yum!

Here’s another great Mason jar dessert to make use of some more of those awesome pudding deals we loaded up on.  This yummy dessert is a variation on a classic that’s been floating around on your momma’s handwritten recipe cards for years.  You could layer this dessert in any clear container, but I think the Mason jar just adds a pretty, simple flair.

Your family will LOVE this delicious recipe!!!

INGREDIENTS

1 ½ cups cool whip

2 cups chocolate pudding

1 cup sugar

1 -8 oz. package cream cheese

1 package graham crackers

6 Tbsp. melted butter

21 oz. can cherry pie filling

DIRECTIONS

Place graham crackers in a sandwich bag and crush no need to turn it into crumbs just small crumbled pieces. Pour into a bowl, stir in melted butter.

In a separate bowl mix; cool whip and pudding.

In a third bowl mix sugar and cream cheese.

Begin layering dessert in Mason jar by first spooning in about ½ an inch of graham cracker mixture. Top with cherry pie filling, then cream cheese mixture, graham cracker, pudding mixture, repeat until jar is full.

Top with a scoop of plain Cool Whip, and of course a cherry.

Makes about 3 quart size mason jars or 6 pint size jars!!
