COUPON POLICY

Publix accepts manufacturers’ coupons (limit one per item), Publix coupons (originals only—no copies), valid Internet coupons, and coupons from nearby competitors identified by each Publix store.

Publix will accept coupons from competing pharmacies for prescriptions only.

Publix will not accept percent-off-items or percent-off-total-order coupons.

Publix will only accept coupons for identical merchandise we sell.

Acceptance is subject to any restrictions on the coupon, and Publix reserves the right to limit quantities.

Manager approval is needed for individual coupons above $5.00.

For a buy-one-get-one free (BOGO) offer, each item is considered a separate sale. Publix will accept a manufacturer’s coupon and either a Publix or a competitor coupon on the same item.

Dollars-off-total-order coupons will be limited to one Publix and one competitor coupon per order. The order total must be equal to or greater than the total purchase requirements indicated on the coupon(s) presented.

There have been some questions recently regarding the proper use of coupons at Publix on the MyCouponExpert Chat Page, so I contacted Publix Corporate for clarification and would like to share this information with you here.

QUESTION:

If an item is on BOGO (Buy One Get One Free), can I use a B1G1 Free MFG coupon with the sale?  What if I have a $1.00/2 PUBLIX STORE coupon that matches the sale, can I use that too?

ANSWER:

YES!  If you have a BOGO sale and you have a B1G1 Free MFG coupon, you can use that coupon to get BOTH ITEMS FREE (in Florida)!  When the items are scanned, one will ring up at full price, the second will ring up free (in Fla), when the cashier scans your B1G1 MFG coupon, it will take off the FULL PRICE of the first item making BOTH items FREE!  YIPPEY!

Although you can not use any other MFG coupon with this deal since the B1G1 free coupon attaches to both items, if you happened to have a PUBLIX STORE COUPON (or competitor) to pair with this, such as a $1.00/2 coupon, you could use that too and not only get both items free, but have an additional $1.00 in “overage” to go towards the rest of your purchases!

QUESTION:

If I have a B2G1 Free MFG Coupon, can I use additional mfg coupons on the first TWO items since I am “paying for those” and getting the third item free?

ANSWER:

NO, due to the agreement that Publix has with each individual manufacturer, the B2G1 free coupon will attach to ALL THREE items since you have to purchase the first two items to get the third item free.  You can not use any additional MFG coupons with the B2G1 free coupon.  HOWEVER, if you had a Publix STORE coupon or competitor coupon, you CAN pair a store coupon with the mfg coupon.

EXAMPLE:

Totino’s Pizza is on sale 10/$10.00, I have a MFG’s coupon for B2G1 Free Totino’s Pizza and I also have a PUBLIX STORE coupon for $1.00/3 Totino’s Pizzas.  I would buy THREE Totino’s Pizza’s ($3.00), I would use ONE B2G1 Free MFG coupon (deducts $1.00) and ONE $1.00/3 PUBLIX coupon (deducts $1.00) and end up paying $1.00 for THREE Pizza’s!

QUESTION:

I have a coupon to get a FREE bag of M&M’s when I buy TWO Kellogg’s Cereal, can I also use MFG coupons on the two boxes of cereal?

ANSWER:

NO, due to the agreement that Publix has with the manufacturers, the coupon for the free M&M’s will attach to ALL THREE ITEMS since you are required to purchase the two cereals in order to get the free M&M’s.

This is where it gets confusing to most people because in the past you were permitted to use a coupon on all three items and most stores will allow this.  I spoke directly to Publix Corporate about this and the person in charge of the department that writes their coupon policy explained that “due to the agreement that Publix has with the manufacturers, a coupon for a free item will attach to any other items listed on that coupon and no other mfg coupons can be used with this coupon”.
