Made from just a few simple supplies, these yarn eggs are the perfect craft for little hands. They only take minutes to make, and in no time you will have a fun little Easter accent. Take a peek at how to make your own. Your kiddos will love these!

Yarn Eggs Kid’s Craft

Supplies needed:
Plastic Easter eggs
Craft glue
Yarn
Scissors

We found all of these supplies in our own crafting scraps but if you need any of them, your local dollar store should have them. It doesn’t matter what color the plastic eggs are as they will be covered, but find yarn that is a hue you enjoy. We used some rainbow yarn for lots and lots of color.

Directions:
1. Begin by pouring some craft glue in a bowl.
2. Cut a long length of yarn and dip it in the bowl. Cover it with glue.
3. Take your fingers and squeeze off any additional glue.
4. Begin wrapping the yarn around your plastic egg. The glue will help it stick and adhere nicely.
5. Set the egg in a sunny window to dry and harden.

When your egg is dry, it will be nice and hard. These eggs are quite sturdy and durable and are sure to survive little hands. Display them in an Easter basket or on a mantel for some instant Easter charm.

mondinsp

The holiday season is wrapping up, and you are most likely double checking your to do list as we speak. You may have read this title and thought, “Oh great, MORE things that I need to do!” Well don’t worry, this list doesn’t include wrapping gifts, hanging lights, or spending one more penny. Instead, read the Monday Inspiration version of 5 Things You Must Do This Holiday season. You will find that once you give these 5 tasks a try, your holiday season may just in fact be complete.

1. Say I am sorry.
Who have you wronged this year? Even the most perfect of people are sometimes found in fault. If you have wronged anyone and owe them an apology, now is the time. Seek the person out via in person, a letter, or even social media if that is the best way for you. You don’t have to give excuses or reasoning, just say it has weighed on your heart to apologize. Then, do it. You will be amazed at the burden this action will list.

2. Forgive someone who has hurt you.
Whether the person comes to you for forgiveness or not, there is something quite cleansing and powerful about giving your forgiveness to someone else. Grant forgiveness for someone and their faults and see how it makes you feel. After all, if you can ask for forgiveness, you can give it.

3. Love.
Take a few days this holiday season to love, and really love someone. Tell someone you love them, show them through kind actions, and be present in their lives. Really think about what love means to you, and then do all you can to put it in action. And by all means, love those who seem to deserve it the least.

4. Laugh.
Crabby shoppers, a lack of parking, cold weather, and empty bank accounts can make quite stern during the holiday season. Don’t forget to take time for laughs. Laugh out loud, tell a joke, watch a funny movie, and let your family and friends see you SMILE! You will be amazed at the effect this has on those around you.

5. Dream.
While you are at it, don’t forget to dream. Dream about big plans in the new year, dream about the money you want to save, dream about the changes you want to make. Day dreaming can actually be quite productive, so dream away.

There you have it, the Monday Inspiration edition of 5 things you must do this holiday season! Which ones are you excited to try? Tell us on the Facebook page or Community Chat page.

Be inspired today, friends!

Thrifty Tuesday Craft: The Perfect Pumpkin Votive Holder

All posts may contain affiliate links and/or sponsored content. Please see Full Disclosure Policy for more information.

votive1

Are we tired of pumpkins yet? I sure hope not, as the Thanksgiving season is just beginning! Pumpkins are a great way to show the harvest of the season and bring a pop of color into your homes. They not only represent the month of October and Halloween, but are truly great for November and the season of giving thanks as well. And so, today’s craft will get us and keep us in the pumpkin mood. This perfect pumpkin votive holder is the perfect decor piece for your holiday table, holiday mantel, and more. Take a look at how easy it is to make one, or two, or three!

The Perfect Pumpkin Votive Holder

Supplied Needed:
Small and fresh pumpkin gourd
Knife
Spoon or scoop tool
Votive candle

Don’t you love DIY projects that only use a handful of supplies? I sure do!

Directions:

  1. Begin by cleaning your pumpkin with warm water and antibacterial soap. This will keep it from rotting so quickly once you carve into it. You want it to last, so this is a great step you don’t want to skip.
  2. Cut a circle around the stem just as you would a large pumpkin when carving.
  3. Remove and discard the stem. Take a spoon or scooping tool and carve out a bowl shape into the pumpkin.
  4. You can now rewash it with a little antibacterial soap if you wish. Dry it well.
  5. Take the votive candle and press it into the pumpkin until it is secure.

Now all you need to do is light your votive (or just turn it on if it is battery operated) and you are all set. How gorgeous would your holiday table look with one of these pumpkins at each place setting? Or how gorgeous would your mantel look with a row of these along it? The final look would no doubt be stunning.

Give this simple and inexpensive perfect pumpkin votive holder craft a try and see how easy it is to get in and stay in the pumpkin spirit this holiday season! When you have made one, or two, or even three, snap a pic and share it on our Facebook page or Community Chat page. We would love to see what you have come up with and give you some pumpkin props!
