Everyone loves a great trash to treasure makeover don’t they? If you love finding old things and repurposing them into something new and fresh, this DIY project is for you. With the holidays coming, you will want to find an assortment of candle holders to set your table aglow. But what if you can’t find ones that fit your color scheme or tastes? No worries! A $3 can of spray paint from your local Walmart store can solve that. With just a little paint and a little patience, you can turn any old candle holder into something festive and fun. Take a look at our transformation!

Here is our candle holder before. It was a $3 thrift store find. It was made of cheap metal and was quite scratched and tarnished. The screws holding it together were lose and rusty, making it such a sad looking piece.

But just wait…here is our after! We simply cleaned the piece with soap and water and dried it well. We then set it on a piece of newspaper and gave it two coats of mint colored spray paint, allowing plenty of drying time in between coats. We then added some new candles, which we found at our local Walmart store as well.

How gorgeous will this look on our holiday table all lit up? We have plenty of paint left, so we are going to keep our eyes peeled for additional candle holders that we can paint to coordinate. And just think, we only spent a few bucks!

Have you ever used spray paint to turn something from drab to fab? We would love to hear about it on our Facebook page or Community Chat page, so take a pic and start bragging!

Happy crafting!
