Oh la la! This is one DIY project you do not want to miss. If you are looking for one sweet treat, this tissue paper candy corn lantern will fit the bill. It is so sweet, so inexpensive, and so easy to create. You only need four supplies to get this party started, and in no time you will have this precious lantern perfect for all of your fall holiday decorating. Take a look below at how to make your own tissue paper candy corn lantern that looks sweet enough to eat.

Darling DIY: Tissue Paper Candy Corn Lantern

Supplies needed:
Tissue paper is orange, yellow, and white
Scissors
Pipe cleaners
Battery operated votives

I was able to find every single on of these supplies at my local Dollar Tree store. That made this a super frugal craft with plenty of supplies left over.

Directions:
1. First, cut several layers of each color of tissue paper into 8 by 8 inch squares. You want your tissue paper to layer up thickly, so try to use at least 4-5 sheets of each color.
2. Lay the yellow tissue paper on top, followed by the orange and then the white paper. This is the color combination of most candy corns.
3. Once they are evenly stacked, you can begin folding the entire pile of tissue like a fan. Remember those fun paper fans you use to make in grade school? Well now you get to make them all over again!
4. When your fan is complete, pinch it in the center with a snip of pipe cleaner. Then, tie on another piece of pipe cleaner and loop it. This will be your handle.
5. Now comes the fun part. Start making those ruffles. Just like you make tissue paper flowers, you want to begin separating the pieces. However instead of pulling them all upward like you would a flower, pull the yellow upward, the orange outward, and the white downward. This will give you the candy corn shape.
6. All you need to do now is add your votive. ONLY USE A BATTERY OPERATED VOTIVE. This is tissue paper guys and gals, so don’t even think about bringing a real flame around it!

There you have it! You now have a fun and frugal candy corn lantern that will light up your home with Halloween charm. Make several to hang at your next party, or just prop them around your home for a little extra glow. They are so easy to make, you make several in no time. So go ahead, give this tissue paper candy corn lantern a try and see what you come up with. Oh, and be sure you stop by and share with us your creations.
