Looking back over some older recipes, however, I realized I could make them even MORE healthy, save a few calories ( sometimes a TON of calories) and Carbs and even KICK UP THE FLAVOR ….WOOHOO ! So here are a few of My Coupon Expert’s Frugal and Delicious Recipes RETOOLED and made even healthier and more delicious for your family . I know I’ll be making these simple changes to my dinners !

Fried Chicken Tenders :
Right from the start these delicious little suckers are FRIED which is a no no in the calorie counting department. Good news is that you can BAKE them and they come out pretty delicious as well . If you happen to have an oil atomizer ( that little spray bottle ) you can get a good crisp on them in the oven.
After you have breaded the Chicken place them in a baking dish that you Wiped down with a little EVOO . I put a tiny bit on a paper towel and rub the bottom of the baking dish so nothing sticks, you seriously need a TINY bit. Spritz your chicken tenders LIGHTLY with the oil atomizer and pop them in a 400 degree oven for 20 minutes or until any juices run clear and they are DONE ! Substitute plain yogurt for the Mayo in our dip and salvage even more calories better spent on one of our YUMMY desserts .

Veggie Pasta Bake:
You might think WHAT ELSE can you do to make this Veggie Pasta Bake even healthier …skip some of the Pasta ! Really even Whole Wheat pasta has a TON of carbohydrates and unless you are running a marathon , chances are all those carbs are going to be converted to installed seat cushions ( you know what I mean) . So cut the pasta in half , double the veggies , maybe even throw in some steamed cauliflower broken into small pieces and you have an even healthier pasta bake that has MORE Vitamins, FIBER and LESS calories !

Fried Pork Chops:
Jody’s Italian Pork Chops sure ARE delicious but once again this dish has FRIED and BREADED pork chops …no,no, no for all the calorie counters. While Pork is a healthy meat eating all that succulent fat rimming the outer edge of your chop isn’t . So before you even begin to cook it remove the fat layer as much as possible.
Just like the Chicken Tenders employ a similar method to oven bake your pork chops. Bump up the Italian flavor by adding a tablespoon of dried basil , 1 teaspoon garlic powder and a teaspoon of oregano to the breading to add more italian flavor to your pork chops. Spritz EVOO on top of the breaded chops and bake at 400 for 20-25 minutes or until done. You can also roast the potatoes in lieu of frying and save HUNDREDS of calories on the dinner !
I hope you can see how easy it is to make a few recipe substitutions and take your dinner from healthy to REALLY healthy, even low calorie. Making a few simple changes to how you cook can really change how you FEEL in the new year and
