Or, you can just leave them as is and use them for festive and frugal decor around your home. Interested? Take a look below at how to make your own.

Repurposed Pumpkin Treat Jar

Supplies needed:

  • Small fruit or canning jar with lid.
  • 1 piece of green felt or fabric.
  • 1 piece of orange fabric or tissue paper
  • Raffia for tying
  • Treats of your choice

I was able to find these supplies at our local craft store and dollar store. Check your local dollar store for the jar and raffia, and your local craft store for the rest of the pieces.

Directions:

  1. To begin, open your jar and stuff it with crumpled up orange fabric or orange tissue. You want to fill it to the top.
  2. Inside of the fabric you can stuff the candies, votive, or tea of your choice. Move the fabric or tissue around the treats to conceal them.
  3. Return the lid to the jar. Place the green felt over it.
  4. Take the raffia and tie it around the lid, securing the green fabric or felt to the top.
  5. You can now add embellishments of your choice, such as a pumpkin face with additional black felt. Or, you can add a gift tag to the lid. Any small touch to make it your own will add some charm and character.

How cool would it look to have one of these treat jars at each place setting at your next dinner party? Or to pass them out as gifts at your next get together? These are so easy and cheap to whip up, they certainly make the perfect gift. So gather your own supplies and create these wonderful repurposed pumpkin treat jars. Get creative, add your own spin, and above all, have fun! But don’t forget in all of your crafty creativeness to head over to the Facebook page or the Community Chat page and share with us what you created. We would love to see it!

Happy crafting!
