Fall is the time where we invite all of the rustic charm Mother Nature has to offer into our homes. Dried leaves, twigs, flowers, and of course rustic raffia are all great ways to add some autumn splendor to your decor. You can find raffia in large bundles at your local Dollar Tree store, or even at your local crafting store. It has so many uses, one of which you are going to learn about today. These Rustic Raffia Wrapped Vases are the perfect craft if you don’t have a great deal of time or money to spend. You can whip one up in just minutes and the final result is a sweet and rustic little vase perfect for displaying your fall findings. Take a look below at how to make your own!
Rustic Raffia Wrapped Vases
Supplies Needed:
1 bundle of raffia
Hot glue, glue gun
Felt leaves or accents of your choice
Small bottles
We were able to find the fall leaves we used in this sample picture at our local Dollar Tree. You can find small bottles just about everywhere, including craft and thrift stores. Ours were a thrift store find and have a great vintage appeal!
Directions:
- Undo your raffia and cut it into long strands.
- Apply some glue in a wrap around fashion around your bottle, one row at a time.
- Cover the row with a strand of raffia.
- Create a new row of glue around the bottle, and repeat the process.
- Continue this process until the entire bottle is covered.
- Add a small dab of glue to the back of your felt accents and press them on where desired.
Now all you need to do is find some twigs, flowers, leaves, or anything else you wish to display in your bottle. These would look cute lined up on a mantel or bookshelf, or even just propped up on your desk at work. Be creative, have fun, and make it yours!
