WOOHOO! I am 10.6 lbs down in 21 days!
HECK YEAH!
If you have been following my posts for the last three weeks, you know that I have been doing the Personal Trainer Food program. I have been blogging on my journey including my struggles here.
Today makes 21 days that I have been eating healthy. I have eliminated all processed foods and useless carbs from my diet including flour, sugar, bread, pasta and rice. Personal Trainer Food sent me box of delicious chicken, veggies and snacks that is REAL FOOD (not tv dinners or boxed stuff) which had ALL of my meals and snacks for a full 28 days included. After researching programs to see what program was out there that was based on “clean eating” with REAL FOOD I came across Personal Trainer Food. I originally bought into the program before speaking with a representative from the company. After discussing it further, they agreed to send me the full program for 28 days in exchange for my honest opinion. I agreed to stick to it without cheating for 28 days to give it a fair shot and see what my results would be. I am 100% positive that I have been successful so far because everything was at my fingertips and super easy to follow. If I got hungry I could just grab one of the allowed foods and eat it without having to think about making the right choices. The only thing that I have added to the foods that they sent me was one apple each night as an additional snack as well as some macadamia nuts. These items are allowed within the program guidelines and sounded good so I took advantage of the extra options.
I can honestly say that I feel 100% better since I started eating healthy
I anticipated that it would be really difficult to eliminate most carbs from my diet. I knew that my diet was pretty much based on some sort of carb at every meal. Since I am not a big sweets person I figured that it would be difficult to adjust to not eating starchy carbs. I’m not going to say that there weren’t times that I just wanted a sandwich or a bowl of fried rice or even a waffle (see my post here on that), but overall, it wasn’t difficult to adjust to at all! As long as I had the allowable foods on hand (meat, cheese, eggs, salads, nuts, apples) I felt satisfied. Since some of the foods are allowed in unlimited quantities, there was always something that I could grab that would make me feel full or satisfy the urge to want to munch on something.
I am SHOCKED that I am exercising regularly
I’m not going to lie… exercising is not on my list of top ten items that I like to do. Honestly, the only exercise program that I have ever really enjoyed was Jazzercise and they stopped offering it in my area a few years back. I am pretty active though with fishing, camping and playing outside with our dogs so I guess that has helped me through the years a bit. With the Personal Trainer Food program they ask you to commit to walking for 10 minutes per day. From the beginning that seemed more than doable and it didn’t give me that internal feeling of wanting to quit. I mean really, 10 minutes isn’t much in the scope of things (until you start doing it and haven’t exercised in a while, haha). My method for pushing through is to put Taylor Swifts “Shake it off” on repeat on my phone with some headphones and listen to it three times. That totals ten minutes and before you know it I am done! I didn’t want to make this big production of having to get ready and go up to the local park to do my walking, so I simply walked around my yard in a big giant square while listening to my music. Since my dog Rosco just recently got done with obedience training I also incorporated this into my walking and practice his “heel” command. He seems to enjoy the attention and it keeps my mind occupied between him and the music.
I sleep better than ever before!
One of the biggest surprises with eating properly has been that I am sleeping SOOOOOOO much better. Those of you that know me or have followed the deals on my website can confirm that I am up ALL HOURS OF THE NIGHT usually. It isn’t unusual to see me comment on a question or post a deal at 3:30am regularly. Since eliminating most carbs from my diet I do not have the energy highs and lows during the day and at night when I hit the bed I fall asleep almost immediately and feel very rested when I wake up in the morning. WHO KNEW?!
Heading into my FINAL WEEK of the 28 day program, here’s my plan:
I have really being doing good about sticking to the plan and as of today I have lost 10.6 lbs. To me that is AMAZING! Every pound that I lose encourages me to keep going and lose even more. My goal was to lose 10 lbs per month for 5 months (50 lbs total) and that is what I plan to do. It is not unusual to lose a little more weight when you initially start a diet because of water weight and excess junk in your system. I feel like 2 1/2 lbs per week is possible with this program and I really want to work towards that goal.
As I mentioned earlier, I already bought into the plan before speaking directly with the company, so I have extra food on hand that will likely carry me another 2-3 weeks. My husband has been eating some meals with me (and enjoying them I might add), so I won’t have a full 28 days left, but I have enough to let me continue for a bit. After that, I do plan to continue the program (at my own expense) until I have hit my weight loss goal. That says A LOT, trust me. I don’t think that I have ever had the desire to continue with any “diet” or eating plan that I have started in the past. By this point I am usually bored to death of the food or I just don’t see myself doing it long term. With Personal Trainer Food, it is just regular natural food that is already seasoned and prepared to make it easy to follow proper eating habits. I like that about the program and feel like I can be successful if I stick it out. I may modify a few things here and there in the long run, but I have been extremely satisfied with my results and hoping to hit my weight loss goal before summer vacation!
I also plan to bump up my exercising to 20 minutes per day starting this week. I have been doing an extra round with my walking this past week and feel like I can commit to doing a little more. I have also noticed that I am much more flexible than before I started walking and have more energy when walking into a store or getting up to do something. It is the little things that you notice when losing weight. My clothes are getting super loose too which is really encouraging! Someone mentioned that I might benefit from a rebounder also, which is one of those mini trampolines with a stability bar that you bounce on and do exercises. I have had knee surgery and this is supposed to be less impact on your knees. If anyone has any experience with using one of these I would love to hear about it! I am probably going to order one this week so let me know!
Ready, Set, GO! It’s the last week!
I have ONE MORE WEEK of the 28 day program. Although I am very satisfied with my results already, it will be interesting to see how much I end up losing after following the full 28 days. My original goal was to lose 10 lbs so anything after that is considered an extra bonus in my book! I will keep you all posted on how I am doing!
To kick off my last week, I decided to go with one of my very favorite meal options which is Stir Fry! YUUUMMMY! Doesn’t this look good??
How are you doing on your program? Have you been able to stick it out so far?
I would love to hear all about it!
