Many of you have asked me what to do if an item that you are purchasing is not on the shelf and if Publix with issue rain checks. I can’t stress enough to you how important it is for you to get a rain check if they are out of the item and it is something that your family uses on a regular basis. A few things that you should know about rain checks:
- Rain checks are issued at the customer service counter
- You can get a rain check if they do not have the flavor that you like on the shelf
- Some stores will limit your “deal” number to 4, others will allow you up to 10 deals
- If you have a coupon that will expire before you use the rain check, most stores will allow you to use the coupon as long as it was valid when the rain check was issued. That applies to both mfg, store and competitor coupons!
Today I went to Publix to purchase my Fuze drinks (I LOVE Fuze Banana Colada!) and planned to get the MEGA DEAL that I posted about last night. For those of you that are interested, here is the deal:
Use the Buy10Get5 FREE coupon that is in the YELLOW ADVANTAGE FLYER
Use FIFTEEN $.50/1 manufactures coupons
You pay $2.50 for 15 FUZE DRINKS!! They are usually $1.59 each so that is a GREAT MEGA DEAL!

**NOTE: I got my FUZE coupons online thru one of the clipper services, but MANY people have found these coupons at Walgreens near the pharmacy, there is a display of Vitamin Waters with the coupons taped to each bottle and a THICK tearpad in front of the display. Take what you need but leave the rest for others. This is a great deal! If they don’t have your flavor, get a rain check for the 10 for $10.00 price NOW to use later, the Yellow advantage flyer coupon is good until the 29th I believe!
I also had a rain check for the Farm Rich Mozzerella Sticks and had coupons for $2.00/1 for each bag. I wanted to purchase the Farm Rich when it was originally on BOGO but they had ZERO in the freezer so I got a rain check. At the time I only had $2.00/2 coupons but while browsing for coupon match ups I found the $2.00/1 coupons and snagged four of them for my deal! So I got a better deal BECAUSE I had a rain check in both instances!

As you can imagine, I was very happy with my deal for the day! I love love love Fuze drinks and was thrilled when they had the flavor that I am addicted to in stock. They only had five on the shelf but the guy stocking said they had a HUGE bin of them in the back and came out with 15 of my favorite flavor! They are all very good, but that one just happens to be my fav!
I hope this helps you all to see how wonderful rain checks can be. There have been many times in the past couple of years (since I have been couponing) where the deal AFTER the BOGO deal was over when I actually used my rain check was even better than the BOGO deal originally was! Erica experienced this last week when she used her rain check on the Hebrew Nationals and there were three really good coupons that came out (mfg and food lion competitor) that gave her some serious overage!
