Memorial Day is a great and wonderful way to remember our patriotic
heroes who sacrificed their lives to help us breathe the air of freedom.
This day is observed with families and friends visiting cemeteries and
memorials to pay homage to their loved and forgotten ones. It is also a wonderful time to let those that are serving our country currently know how much we appreciate the sacrifice that they are making for all of us.
Here are a few thoughts published by the parent of a soldier that I thought put things into perspective quite well:
It is the VETERAN, not the preacher,
who has given us freedom of religion.
It is the VETERAN, not the reporter,
who has given us freedom of the press.
It is the VETERAN, not the poet,
who has given us freedom of speech.
It is the VETERAN, not the campus organizer,
who has given us freedom to assemble.
It is the VETERAN, not the lawyer,
who has given us the right to a fair trial.
It is the VETERAN, not the politician,
Who has given us the right to vote.
While enjoying your weekend with family and friends, take a moment to reflect on our freedom and those that preserve our freedom for us. This is a wonderful time to teach our children and grandchildren what it means to be a hero!
HAVE A SAFE AND WONDERFUL
MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND!
