THE NEW
PUBLIX COUPON POLICY!!!
As expected, there are no major changes and the new policy was just intended to clarify who is a competitor at each store and what the proper use of coupons is at Publix.
**A BIG Thanks to Jennifer Green for the photos!**
(The complete written policy is at the bottom of this post)
You can still use ONE Mfg coupon and ONE Store -OR- Competitor coupon per item. This has been an issue in the past since some stores inadvertently accepted a Store and Competitor coupon on one item as well as a Mfg coupon. That has never been their policy even though some were able to get by with it. The new policy specifically addresses this topic.
Regarding $$ off coupons, you can use ONE Competitor $$ off coupon per transaction as well as ONE Publix $$ off coupon. If you have more than one Competitor $$ off coupon you will have to make a decision on which one
you want to use for that transaction.
They will ONLY allow you to use a pharmacy coupon for a competing pharmacy if you are purchasing a prescription. For instance, I interpret that to mean, if you have a Winn-Dixie coupon for a $25.00 gift card if you transfer a new prescription, they would honor that. They would not honor a $1.00 off Walgreens Covergirl coupon for example.
It appears that each store will have their own list of competitors that will be accepted and this is likely determined by distance. You will want to get the policy from each store in your area so that you know which store accepts what. In the photos that we have, they have the stores accepted as well as the name and address of which store that list is for.
Publix accepts maufacturer’s coupons (limit one per item), Publix
coupons (originals only-no copies), valid Internet coupons, and coupons
from nearby competitors identified by each Publix store
(Competitor names are posted at each Publix store.) We will accept
coupons from competing pharmacies for prescriptions only. We will not
accept percent-off-items or percent-off-total-order coupons. We will
only accept coupons for identical merchandise
we sell. Acceptance is subject to any restrictions on the coupon, and
we reserve the right to limit quantities. Manager approval is needed for
individual coupons above $5.00. For a buy-one-get-one free (BOGO)
offer, each item is considered a separate sale. We will accept a
manufacturer’s coupon and either a Publix or a competitor coupon on the
same item. Dollars-off-total-order coupons will be limited to one Publix
and one competitor coupon per order. The order total must be equal to
or greater than the total purchase requirements indicated on the
coupon(s) presented.
I am very happy that they have put out this written policy. This will help make things much smoother at check-out since there won’t be any dispute about what the store will or will not take. I understand that there may be an adjustment period for those that have been using Walgreens coupons regularly, but rest assured, you will still get amazing deals and save a ton of money by shopping at Publix.
