I don’t know about you, but it seems to me like fall decorating is in full swing. Everywhere you look you see pumpkins popping up, scarecrows, and lots of Halloween hues. Get in on this festive fun by decorating your own home with all the sights of the season. And no worries, you don’t have to go broke to do so. Take a peek at this Spooky Faces Lantern and see how simple it is to continue making your own frugal decor. You only need a few items to create this gem, so take a look below at how you can get started!
Spooky Faces Lantern
Supplies Needed:
1 jar
Strand of Halloween lights (Available at Dollar Tree)
Craft Glue
1 sheet of die cut scrapbook paper (Around .50 at my local craft store)
Scissors
Directions:
- Wrap the piece of paper around your jar and cut to fit.
- Add a dab of glue to the ends of the paper.
- Wrap the paper around the jar and press firmly on the glued areas. Hold into place so you know it has adhered to the jar.
- Once it is dry, place the strand of lights inside and plug in. Presto! You have an instant, no flame lantern!
Think of all of the fun variations you can try with this craft. My local craft store had all sorts of scrapbook paper designs such as mummy faces, pumpkins, bats, ghosts, and more. Find a piece that is die cut such as the one here and you are ready to roll. You can even use various colored lights if you wished such as green or white to give it a spooky look. Get creative and make something that YOU like and reflects YOU. After all, that is what makes this fun!
