Well, I thought I would update you all on my progress with Personal Trainer Food and let you know how I am doing! I am happy to say that I am down 8.5 lbs in 13 day! I swear I didn’t lift myself up with helium balloons like in the picture above either, haha!
YIPPEY!
If you haven’t been following my journey, I did a post HERE and HERE about it to bring you up to speed. Basically I received a box of delicious chicken, veggies and snacks from Personal Trainer Food (no TV dinners, real meat and veggies) that covers all of my meals for a full 28 days. I have eliminated all processed carbs from my diet, no sugar, no flour, no potatoes and no dairy except for cheese. It was surprisingly easy to adjust to and I have had no problems staying on track which is amazing for me!
On this program they want you to focus more on routine and eating properly than actual “dieting”. By eating the right foods and doing some simple exercising (10 minutes of walking per day) your body goes into fat burning mode and the weight starts coming off naturally. I honestly haven’t done much else besides what is recommended and I am pleasantly surprised that I am not hungry and the weight really IS coming off!
The cool thing about removing processed carbs and sugars from your diet is that you no longer have the energy ups and downs during the day as your sugar levels crash. I wake up feeling good and haven’t had the mid day slump since I started eating right. It took about 3-4 days for my body to adjust to eating properly and during those days I felt a little sluggish here and there but nothing to really speak of.
The food is DELICIOUS! You get to pick out the items that you want them to send you which includes Pre-cooked, Frozen, Gourmet Quality yet Affordable, No-Low Gluten options. For the most part I selected chicken, beef, veggies, sausage, eggs, cheese, nuts, etc. It is all good. I haven’t found anything that I don’t like yet and there is a lot to select from. My FAVORITE are the gluten free Buffalo Chicken Sticks, it makes me feel like I’m cheating even though I’m not! It is included with the food that they sent me and OH SO GOOD when I just want something that seems off limits. The regular chicken breast and veggies are all very tasty too and I haven’t felt deprived of anything at this point. You can eat an unlimited amount of meat & eggs and some veggies so there are plenty of options to keep you full while your body adjusts to no carbs.
Grilled Chicken Breast and Broccoli VERY good!
Buffalo Chicken Sticks.
I know, it looks all wrong.. but its not!
Stir-fry Chicken & Sausage with Veggies
So how much does this cost?
Everyone asks me this question before anything else, so I wanted to give you an idea of how much this would cost to do on your own. Keep in mind that Personal Trainer Food sent me a 28 day supply of ALL MEALS and snacks to try out, this is called their ALL INCLUSIVE program. I was planning to buy in on the deal anyways because it was the ONLY plan that I could find that sent actual REAL pre-cooked, frozen, gourmet quality food that is not boxed or tv dinners. I have tried those programs and they get old really fast. So with that said, my package which includes a Breakfast (such as an omelet and sausage) a Lunch (such as a seasoned chicken breast and veggies) and a Dinner (such as a meat ~beef or chicken~ and veggies) as well as two snacks per day (Sausage & Cheese sticks, Almonds, Pistachios, etc) would be $369 total for the whole month after the $75 promotion on their website (code MyYear2015). That works out to be $13.18 per day or roughly $4.39 per meal not factoring in the 56 snacks you get with it. For me that is a GREAT DEAL because it is really good healthy food and I don’t have to think about what I am going to eat or spend time preparing the foods I need to lose weight. I am SURE that is why I have been as successful as I have been so far. The ease of grabbing something, heating it up and eating it and feeling satisfied but keeping on track is my idea of an easy diet. I get off track when I have to plan it out for a month.
There are cheaper programs too which you could easily do as well if you didn’t want to put out that much initially. Since the breakfast meals consist of omelets or eggs with cheese and a meat like sausage or bacon you could do those yourself and buy in on the 2 meal program instead. For me, I will probably stick with the “All Inclusive” package because it takes the guess work out of it and makes it WAY too easy.
I am about to enter into my THIRD week on the program. Personal Trainer Foods sent me a video on what to expect in the third week (you can check it out here if interested). It is suppose to be the HARDEST of all weeks so I am really going to stay focused and stay with the program. I promised myself that I would give this a full 28 days without wavering at all from the program and see how I do. I personally need to lose about 50 lbs so I will be THRILLED if this is the program that works for me long term. So far I feel fantastic and the food is no problem to keep up with!
- Last week I shared more information on what I am eating, you can check that out here
- If you are thinking of ordering, click on this link here but DO NOT use the promo code (for $50 off) it gives you when you click on my link, go directly to the order page and use code MyYear2015 to get $75 off.
I know that many of you are doing your own weight loss programs too. I would love to hear how yours is going! Please comment and share!!
